MobileCastle — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 August 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to the mobile applications published by MobileCastle ("we", "us", "our") — including Castora and our other apps (together, "the apps"). It explains how information is handled when you use our apps.

The short version: Our apps are built to run on your device. We don't require you to create an account and we don't operate our own servers to gather your data. Any files or content you open in an app are processed on your device and are not uploaded to us. The main data collection comes from Google's advertising and in-app-purchase services, in the apps that use them, as described below.

1. Who we are

The data controller responsible for the apps is MobileCastle, based in Germany. For any privacy question or request, contact us at mobilecastle.android@gmail.com.

2. Information handled by our apps

Content and files you open (stay on your device)

When an app lets you open your own content — for example videos, media, or documents on your device — that content is processed locally on your device to provide the app's features. We do not upload, copy, or transmit your personal files to MobileCastle or to any third party. (For example, Castora streams your selected video over your local Wi-Fi to the TV you choose; the video never leaves your network.)

Data stored locally on your device

Our apps store settings and convenience data on your device only — such as your preferences, history or resume positions, favourites, caches, and short diagnostic logs. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share it (for example by sending us a diagnostic log for support). Clearing an app's data or uninstalling it removes this data.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Some of our apps show ads (typically on a free tier) via Google AdMob. Google and its partners may collect and process data such as a device advertising identifier, IP address, and app-interaction data to serve and measure ads. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland we show a Google-certified consent message before ads are personalised. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

In-app purchases (Google Play Billing)

Some of our apps offer optional purchases (for example, a one-time "Pro" upgrade). Transactions are processed by Google Play. We receive confirmation of your purchase/entitlement so we can unlock features and remove ads; we do not receive or store your payment card details.

Crash and performance diagnostics

To keep our apps stable, we may receive crash and performance reports through Google Play (for example, Android vitals) and similar Google tools. These reports are provided in aggregated form and are used only to diagnose and fix problems.

3. Device permissions

Each app requests only the permissions its features need, and Android asks for your consent. You can review or revoke permissions any time in your device's Settings. Depending on the app, these may include, for example:

Any permissions or features specific to a particular app are described in that app's Google Play store listing.

4. How the information is used

5. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared only with the Google services our apps rely on:

6. Your advertising choices

You can reset or delete your advertising ID and limit ad personalisation in your device's Settings → Google → Ads. Where a consent message is shown, you can change your choice at any time when prompted. In apps that offer it, you can also remove ads entirely by purchasing the Pro upgrade.

7. Your rights (EEA/UK — GDPR)

Because MobileCastle is based in Germany, the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies. Our legal bases are: performance of, and our legitimate interest in providing, the apps' functionality; your consent for personalised advertising; and, for purchases, performance of a contract. Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (in Germany, your competent state data protection authority). To exercise any right, email mobilecastle.android@gmail.com.

8. Children

Our apps are not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will address it.

9. Data retention and security

Data an app stores lives on your device and remains until you clear the app's data or uninstall it. Data handled by Google (ads, purchases, diagnostics) is retained per Google's policies. On-device data is protected by the Android application sandbox, and we use reasonable measures to protect information we handle.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
